About us

The BIOFINS facility is a unique and powerful array of specialized instruments to be used in analyzing biomolecular function, interactions and structure in Eastern Canada.

The integrated BIOFINS platform concentrates key technologies into a single resource and consolidates a powerful array of specialized technologies for biomolecular interaction analysis including proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids, small molecules, and cells/viruses.

Our instruments include fluorescence spectroscopy, circular dichroism spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering, preparative and analytical ultracentrifugation and isothermal titration calorimetry.

Mission

The mission of BIOFINS is to enhance the awareness and accessibility of these instruments in the regional life sciences research community and to make them available for training purposes.

Through increased accessibility and awareness of these instruments, and by offering advanced scientific training, BIOFINS will facilitates leading-edge, high-impact research in a productive and cost-effective manner.
